Manor Solomon Update: Leeds United Wage Details Amid Loan Cancellation Rumours
Leeds United secured a season-long loan deal for Manor Solomon from Tottenham this summer, aiming to strengthen their options on the wing. However, the move has yet to produce significant results.
After Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter’s departures, along with Jaidon Anthony’s loan deal expiring, Daniel Farke was in need of attacking reinforcements.
To address this, Leeds brought in Tottenham winger Manor Solomon on a season-long loan for the 2024/25 campaign.
Here’s everything we know about Manor Solomon’s transfer to Leeds United, including details of his loan agreement, wage earnings, and whether there’s any consideration to terminate his loan early…
Solomon joined Leeds as one of eight signings made during the summer transfer window, with two of those being season-long loans, the other being Joe Rothwell from Bournemouth.
Leeds were clearly pleased with the signing, expressing satisfaction with their patient approach to the transfer market, which allowed them to secure Solomon despite strong interest from top-flight clubs across Europe. The club highlighted that their strategy of waiting for the right players to become available ultimately paid off, allowing them to act swiftly when the opportunity arose to land the 24-year-old winger.
Is there a buy option included?
Leeds’ agreement to sign Israel international Manor Solomon on loan does not feature an option to buy, according to multiple sources, including The Athletic.
Solomon is currently valued at €13 million (£10.97 million) on Transfermarkt. Before joining Tottenham, he had stints with Maccabi Petah Tikva, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Fulham.
What is Solomon’s wage at Leeds United?
Capology’s salary breakdown suggests that Manor Solomon is one of the highest earners at Leeds United. His verified wages from Tottenham are £60,000-per-week, but it’s unclear exactly how much of that Leeds are covering.
Given the competition they faced to sign him, it’s likely that Leeds are paying a significant portion of his wages, with the YEP reporting:
“The YEP understands that Leeds will cover a substantial part of Solomon’s wages during his time at the club, provided all goes to plan with medical tests and health checks in the coming days.”
So far this season, Solomon has made only two appearances, having missed the last four matches due to a hamstring injury.
Could Leeds cancel Solomon’s loan deal?
An assist on his debut against Hull City raised expectations for Solomon, but a costly error against Burnley, followed by injury, significantly set him back.
Since then, he’s struggled to regain full fitness, looking somewhat out of sync with the rest of the squad due to his lack of match sharpness. Despite Leeds’ likely significant financial commitment to a winger yet to make a major impact, journalist Graeme Bailey was asked about the possibility of terminating Solomon’s loan in January. He responded (via LeedsUnited.news):
“I don’t think it will go that far. With Djed Spence, it was more off-field issues and his conduct rather than his performances. Solomon’s a good professional. He was brought in to compete in a squad that’s quite high-caliber, so it was never going to be easy for him to walk in.
“They’re generally happy to have him around as an option. Did they expect him to be the best player in the Championship? Probably not. From what I’m hearing, he’s a good professional, and they’re satisfied with his attitude.”
“Will it lead to a permanent deal? It’s hard to say right now, but there’s still plenty of time. Unless something drastic happens, I don’t see them ending the loan early. I haven’t heard any talk of dissatisfaction. Leeds have such a strong squad, it’s not an easy one to break into.”
